Gabriel Kalfon
Gabriel Kalfon was born in North Africa, where his passion for tailoring was sparked by his older brother, a talented tailor who crafted suits for King Hassan II of Morocco—a monarch known for his impeccable style. Inspired, Gabriel moved to Paris to train as a master tailor, honing his craft at a prestigious shop favored by politicians and dignitaries.
In the 1960s, Gabriel and his brother ventured to Montreal, setting up a manufacturing business that marked the beginning of his Canadian tailoring journey. Eventually, Gabriel settled in Vancouver, where he established Chevalier Creations bespoke tailoring in 1969—a name that still stands today.
Over the decades, Gabriel has continued to meet fascinating clients, including those from the world of film and television. Notably, he tailored the iconic suit worn by Chuck Norris in The Hitman. Despite evolving styles, the craftsmanship at Chevalier Creations has remained largely unchanged. Each suit and shirt is meticulously made for men and women, rooted in time-honored techniques and Gabriel’s wealth of experience.
